Different method of listing All TV Shows

It seems to be heavy on the sql server when attempting to get this page...especially when you reach 600 tv shows...I can only imagine it would get worse when I add more.
Could we not have a bar or something at the top with the alphabet listed horizontally, including (0-9).
This way we only initially have to load the 0-9 sql query and when someone clicks on A it will only list the shows in A, then the same with B etc.
